Oh My Gosh!!! Our corn looked wonderful as it was first growing, green and strong. Then a bad rain and wind storm came along and knocked it all down. And that didn't happen just once, but we would try to stand it up again. We let it grow and grow and grow, well we thought, but after more than the maturing time we picked it. As you can see it was about 1 1/2 inches long and it looked gross! We did find out later that maybe it was the soil----we will try again next year!!! You can hardly see it in Steve's hand!!! It didn't take him long to shuck it!!

THE BEACH

At the beach with Austin is fun and challenging!!! He didn't like staying on the towel or blanket and the sand was always interesting to him. In the eyes, nose and mouth!! He did like the water, and couldn't figure out why he would keep sinking. And the showers was the best. At one beach entrance there was a water hose and he had a blast with that not wanting to leave!

Our Garden

Our garden did ok in the beginning of the season as you can see, BUT not very well after that. Austin helped with the carrots, until he took a bite. He made quite a funny face!!

Backpacking at Lost Cove, North Carolina

We finally fit EVERYTHING in our backpacks!!! Mine weighed about
40 lbs. and Steve's weighed over 50. We were going to be comfortable while we were there, chairs, hammock and lots of good stuff. Boy were we sweating when we got to the campsite, and it was only about a mile in. We were smarter on the way out and did it in 2 trips. We had the best campsite, and had the best camping experience. We only got to stay one night, it was threatening to rain---but it never did. Very special memories!

Camping

We had a great time camping. The area was called Lost Cove and it was absolutly beautiful. We were right next to the stream, fishing was great, weather was wonderful. What a fisherman!!

It is hard to see here, but Steve built a great table out of tree branches, and it worked out just perfect. What a camper!!

Isn't he so cute, and he is the best fire builder!!

Our Home

During one of Heidi's visits she took a bunch of pictures of our home, and I am so glad she did this. It is fun to see our home in pictures. Thanks Heidi
