This was a very busy day, and another fun day. We had dinner in, I forget which building, and were entertained by Dartmouth's Glee club. Great voices and funny too. At the end all the alum got up and sang their Alma Marta. Very touching! There were many proud faces. What an honor to go to Dartmouth. I think there were only a couple of women there when Steve was a senior. I didn't realize the college was so small. Everyone I met was just top notch in every way, and my hubby was on top of the top notch!! Love him!! There was an open house for the dedication of the new Rugby building. Steve played Rugby while attending. Kind of glad I didn't get to watch, it is really a rough game!! Pictured below are some of his "old" team mates. All the way to the right is Steve, next to him is Demetri Gerakaris, a black smith, and he sculped with iron the Rugby players over their head. It is pretty remarkable!

Better picture of the sculpture. There was a little contriversary because they were all men in the sculpture, he changed one to look more like a woman!?

There was a memorial service held for those that had passed away, and a candle lit for each one. When Mike Stratton's name was called, Steve went up and lit the candle honoring him. A special moment.
After the service there was a GREAT farmers market on the Green, and Steve got me one of the biggest meringue cookies ever. Not being able to have wheat or gluten, I was in heaven, and I didn't even share!!

Buddies

Randy, Steve and Sandy. Randy is a great friend to Steve. The first time he saw Steve at the reunion he cried. We were able to spend a lot of time with Randy. Sandy has been a friend for a long time. He and his wife and their golden retriever came to visit us when we lived up on Jacobs Road in New Jersey. Randy was the attorney for the Oakland A's baseball team. Our family went to an A's game with them when we were visiting Lolee and Rieber in CA. He was also the president of the San Diego Padraes. He is now the president of the class of 1969 Dartmouth alumni.

Recognition and Dinner

We had a wonderful dinner out on the Green. Dartmouth's former president spoke and recognition was given to many of the alumni that have given so much to the college. All the alum were on the Green for a group picture.
A very special couple. Yogi was one of Steve's fraternity brothers, along with a very good friend Mike Stratton. Steve and Mike were roommates for two years, and he worked with him at Central City Opera House in Central City, CO. Steve and I went to Mike and Nancy's wedding in NH or Boston. Mike passed away over 15 years ago because of a brain tumor. During the reunion we spent a lot of time with Yogi and his wife . They were fun to be with and I especially enjoyed talking and spending time with . Their home sounded wonderful. I think it was near Boston on a lake.

Organic Garden

Dartmouth's organic garden was such a treat, and we learned so much. The fellow that was in charge of the program was pure and true in his organic knowledge. He worked so hard with not a lot of support from the college. He knew so much and explained things so well in a way we could understands. He recycled everything he could and tried to have and enclosed program. Where from start to finish he could grow, heat, cool, fertilize and produce vegetables in one place. That smile of his was so friendly and warm. I am so glad we took that tour.

The Mooselauke Hike

WE MADE IT!!! And a hike to remember. The mountains in the east are beautiful. As we were driving around I would say to Steve, "I feel like I was home", everything just felt so familiar! When we hicked Mooselauke at Steve's 25th reunion the girls were with us. We went up and down the same way, and we were 15 years younger, this time we went up and down two different ways. Boy we were hurting on the way down. We were sore for a couple of days! BUT so was everyone else! This was at the top, and boy was it was cold and windy there. We were glad to be there, but knew it was a long way back down! This was really a long hike, and this was the BEGINNING. It was a beautiful day, great for hiking. A little cool and cloudy. There were about 14 of us on the hike.

New Hampshire- Dartmouth Reunion

These pictures are a little out of order, but hopefully I will get caught up!! In June 2009 we went to Steve's 40th college reunion at Dartmouth. We stayed in Manchester, NH in a B&B (pictures prior to these) We wern't crazy about Manchester, it seemed to be a hard place to live. BUT we found this great little shop (also pictured prior) and found curtins for over our sliding glass door. I had made some before, but they just didn't work out, maybe they were too light, so there was nothing there for 2 1/2 years. We were excited to find the perfect ones, I mean Steve really found them. Thanks Steve
The first night of the reunion we stayed at the Moosilauke Lodge. Great dinner and fun square dance. Steve got to visit with old college friends. The fellow that arranged the whole reunion was, can't remember his name, it is now February 2010 and this was back in June 2009. Anyway he is the person on the left in the picture. He did a great job.The square dancing was lots of fun and we got a pretty darn good work out!
